Calcium Phosphate, also known as Calc Phos, is a bone builder and is essential in the formation of bone and teeth. Without Calc Phos, no bone can be made. Calc Phos also promotes healthy cellular activity and restores tone to weakened organs and tissues.
When there is a Calc Phos deficiency, bone cells are not built as fast as they die and many disease processes begin in the body. Conditions such as rheumatism can sometimes be a due to a deficiency of this salt, and because Calc Phos is found in gastric juice a deficiency is frequently the cause of indigestion. Kidney disease (Brights disease) could also indicate a Calc Phos deficiency.
Some deficiency symptoms are muscles that are sensitive to cold, growing pains, slow healing fractures, anemia, digestive problems, slow dentition, white marks on fingernails and teeth, and teeth with translucent tips. Some disease conditions are problems with bones, weak ankles, teething problems, osteoporosis, spina bifida, stiff neck and rickets.
Some facial signs of a Calc Phos deficiency are a waxy appearance on areas of the face such as the nose, ears, inner eyelid, or a waxy appearance to the skin. Often the appearance of stretched cheekbones is another sign of deficiency - that hard-bitten look. Small lips is another sign of a deficiency as is having a creamy-white look to the skin. (1)
Things that make your symptoms feel better or worse are a good way to determine if this salt is the one for you. With a Calc Phos deficiency symptoms are generally worse at night, in damp cold weather or upon getting wet, and are better in warm weather and in a warm room.
In an acute situation that is severe such as a headache, rheumatic pains, cough with clear/thick mucus, diarrea in teething children, etc., as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 30-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet.
Repeat according to the severity of the symptoms. Stop on improvement. Repeat as needed.
You can also take tissue salts to treat chronic conditions. With a chronic condition, such as rheumatism, skin eruptions with thick and clear discharge, weak bones, anemia, Brights disease of the kidneys, etc., you would take 2-3 tablets, 2-3x per day for 5 weeks, or you can even finish the full bottle. Taking little breaks is important so the body does not develop a tolerance. In this situation, you would take the tissue salt either for 5 days on with 2 days off, or for 3 weeks on with one week off over many months.
When taking tissue salts, tip the tablets into the lid and drop them into your mouth. Avoid touching the cap to your mouth. It is also important to try to avoid food for 10-20 mins before and after taking the salts, and take away from coffee or mint products as it will not be properly absorbed.
Tissue Salts are a part of Homeopathic Medicine.
Homeopathy, the medicine of energy, is a medical system based on the belief that the body can cure itself by strengthening its own defense mechanisms by using substances selected for their energy-giving properties. Homeopaths use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants, herbs, minerals, chemicals, disease products or allopathic drugs which are potentized.
