Calcium Sulfate, also known as Calc Sulph or Lime Sulphate, is a blood purifier and helps cleanse the blood and tissues. It is found in the liver and it helps with waste removal from the blood stream.
WHAT IS CALCIUM SULFATE GOOD FOR?
Calc Sulph is helpful with:
- acne (especially in adolescence)
- sore throats and tonsillitis
- inflammation
- contact dermatitis
- eczema
- tumours
- ulcers
- congestion and yellow discharges from wounds
- abscesses
- cysts
- mucous.
Calc Sulph will prevent a sore throat from developing and cut short a threatening cold (see alsoTissue Salt #4: Ferr Phos).
Calc Sulph helps drain wounds and abscesses, and helps cysts and boils that are slow to resolve from becoming septic.
WHAT ISSUES DOES A CALCIUM SULFATE DEFICIENCY CAUSE?
A lack of this salt in the body allows the discharge of pus from an infection to continue too long. As such, it is useful during the 3rd stage of mucous congestion, lung troubles, boils, ulcers or abscesses. This one works well after Silica as Silica pushes out the mucous or pus, and Calc Sulph closes up the process.
FACIAL SIGNS OF DEFICIENCY:
Some facial signs of deficiency are: (1)
- age or liver spots
- enlarged pores
- a dirty appearance on the skin
- acne that discharges a yellow matter
- an overall white appearance
- a cold-white tone over the entire face
PAY ATTENTION TO CHANGES IN SYMPTOMS
Things that make your symptoms feel better or worse are a good way to determine if this salt is the one for you. With a Calc Sulph deficiency symptoms are generally worse with warmth of any kind, drafts, stimulants, in the evening, with sleep or menses. Symptoms are better in open air, bathing, doubling over or uncovering.
In an acute situation that is severe such as discharging wounds, colds in the 3rd stage of resolution (thick, yellow discharge), tonsillitis, inflammation of the eyes with discharging pus, etc., as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 30-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet.
Repeat according to the severity of the symptoms. Stop on improvement. Repeat as needed.
You can also take tissue salts to treat chronic conditions. With a chronic condition, such as acne, eczema, boils, etc., you would take 2-3 tablets, 2-3x per day for 5 weeks, or you can even finish the full bottle. Taking little breaks is important so the body does not develop a tolerance. In this situation, you would take the tissue salt either for 5 days on with 2 days off, or for 3 weeks on with one week off over many months.
When taking tissue salts, tip the tablets into the lid and drop them into your mouth. Avoid touching the cap to your mouth. It is also important to try to avoid food for 10-20 mins before and after taking the salts and take away from coffee or mint products as it will not be properly absorbed.

Tissue Salts are a part of Homeopathic Medicine.
Homeopathy, the medicine of energy, is a medical system based on the belief that the body can cure itself by strengthening its own defense mechanisms by using substances selected for their energy-giving properties. Homeopaths use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants, herbs, minerals, chemicals, disease products or allopathic drugs which are potentized.
